Feather Status
BlueRed GreenYellow Orange White Turquoise Colored feather patches are awarded for completing each requirement listed below. Feathers are typically earned at a rate of one per month, with no definite order required. Only Princesses earn the red, blue, and turquoise feathers. The remaining four feathers are earned by the Big Brave and Princess at the same time.

If all members of a tribe have earned their seven feathers by the Spring Outing, each member will receive an arrowhead for your necklace.

Names (RED Feather)

Know and repeat before tribe all the real and Indian names of each Big Brave/Guide/Princess.

Aims (BLUE Feather)

Know and repeat before the tribe the six Y-Guides & Princess aims.

Pledge (TURQUOISE Feather)

Know and repeat before the tribe the Y-Guides & Princess pledge.

Dinner (ORANGE Feather)

Arrange a night-off for Mother. Big Brave and Guide/Princess plan, purchase, cook and serve dinner. Mother is not allowed in the kitchen. After serving dinner, Big Brave and Guide/Princess do the dishes. Mother furnishes a statement in writing to the Tallykeeper.

Hike (YELLOW Feather)

Complete a 2-mile walking hike with Big Brave. This can be a tribe outing such as the Fall Outing at Camp Kanata. A report should be made at the next tribe meeting with each Guide/Princess telling of interesting things they observed.

Campout (WHITE Feather)

Princess completes one overnight camping trip with Big Brave. (This is recommended as a tribal outing. The Spring Outing at Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer do not count.)

Crafts (GREEN Feather)

Princess completes three craft projects with Big Brave. This can be completed over a period of time. The projects will be presented to the tribe upon completion. The three do not have to be presented at the same meeting. The Tallykeeper will keep an accurate record of the projects.
